All of us have different obstacles to overcome in life. Each person has a different tikkun or soul adjustment to deal with based on what needs correcting from a past life. It is God’s call as to what needs correcting and He gives us obstacles to deal with as well as the prerequisite free will to make our own good or bad decisions. This is the unique nature of our personal relationship with the Creator. Admittedly, some people face greater challenges than other people. While that may not “seem fair”, that is also His call, as He alone made our souls. Sometimes the acceptance of this requires grace and dignity coupled with a tenacious spirit. This, in turn, builds character as it drives us to a higher calling. Since our soul is “on loan” from God, while clothed in a human embodiment, only He can truly know what obstacles each individual soul needs to overcome to achieve a higher consciousness during their current journey.

Growth occurs as we emotionally choose how we deal with our problems. It can occur through grace and dignity or aggravation and annoyance. The choice is yours. The penguin has a much simpler time of it in the emotional decision making process. Perhaps, however, we can take a lesson from the penguin here as to how to approach our human dilemmas head on…and achieve a sense of accomplishment from a job well done.

A hero is an ordinary individual who finds strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles – Christopher Reeves

Everyone who achieves success in a great venture, solves each problem as they came to it. They helped themselves. And they were helped through powers known and unknown to them at the time they set out on their voyage. They keep going regardless of the obstacles they met. – W. Clement Stone

Joy is of the will which labors, which overcomes obstacles, which knows triumph. – William Butler Yeats
